Milky Way Rising
This is my second attempt at photographing the Milky Way. A group of us newbies at astrophotography had a blast playing around in the stars till the wee hours of the morning!
Maryhill Stonehenge is a full-size, astronomically-aligned replica of Stonehenge located in Maryhill, Washington. It was the first memorial to honor those that died in World War I. The altar stone is placed to be aligned with sunrise on the Summer Solstice. Hill, a Quaker, learned that the original Stonehenge had been used as a sacrificial site and thus constructed the replica as a reminder that humanity is still being sacrificed to the god of war.
