From the Other Side

The final chapter in the saga of my Saturday Adventure. After getting up early (totally against my personal creed!) for the sunrise at the top of Mt. Hood in Oregon, I drove down the other side of the mountain into Hood River and hung out to get the sunset from the other side. I had lots of time to wander around and found this lovely little snow-covered pond with an amazing view of her. I got another almost colorless sunset, but it was still beautiful.

This was a remote location, and I must admit to being a bit spooked, since I had just taken (as a court reporter) the testimony of the son in this case that's all the news around here right now, as the son has decided to testify against his father in the trial that begins jury selection today!
Columbia River

The Columbia River separates Oregon & Washington between Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington. In the fall all the trees along the river turn a brilliant yellow, but we seldom have sunshine at a time when I can try to shoot this area. I wish I had a boat! Mt. Hood in the background. The colors seriously were this intense that day, with the water in shadow.
Mountains Majesty

We took a trip up to Mt. Hood in Oregon recently. This is the view of the mountain from the ski lodge window. The snow is yet to come...

You’d think that when Mt. Hood heard I was getting up at 5 a.m. to come visit her -- yes, MOI, the night-owl, sleep-in girl -- she would have put on a little extra show: perhaps would have grabbed a cloud or two or called in a dancing canoe. But alas, it was not to be. She did put on a light dusting of new snow and was lovely, nonetheless, and when I told her so she blushed ever so modestly.
