The final chapter in the saga of my Saturday Adventure. After getting up early (totally against my personal creed!) for the sunrise at the top of Mt. Hood in Oregon, I drove down the other side of the mountain into Hood River and hung out to get the sunset from the other side. I had lots of time to wander around and found this lovely little snow-covered pond with an amazing view of her. I got another almost colorless sunset, but it was still beautiful.

This was a remote location, and I must admit to being a bit spooked, since I had just taken (as a court reporter) the testimony of the son in this case that's all the news around here right now, as the son has decided to testify against his father in the trial that begins jury selection today!

I woke up early yesterday and decided to pop up and drive the 1-1/2 hours to Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood for sunrise! I didn't get a very good show -- had to actually add a bit of red filter to get this much color out of the shot. But it was still beautiful! This is actually most of the way up the mountain where the ski lodge is, so we only see the summit of the mountain above us.

Ridgefield wildlife refuge isn't exactly a beautiful place most of the time, but every now & then the "stars align" to produce a thing of beauty.

For a better view of the dewdrops, this one needs to be viewed X2 or so :-)

I finally got out for some fog shots today. I need to learn better metering control, especially when the sun's breaking thru the fog. Any suggestions?

I was stopped short on the road leaving my house the other day...one of those rare moments when all the forces of nature align themselves perfectly. I couldn't quite capture the magic. I've lived here 11 years, and this is the first time I've seen the fairies work their magic like this :-)

I finally climbed a bit of Mt. Rainier in Washington state this year in late summer. I hadn't realized there was an "easy" path for us woosey kinds of people! Wow, what an amazing place! I missed the best of the flower show, but the cool thing was that the higher you climbed, you got spring all over again!

We took a trip up to Mt. Hood in Oregon recently. This is the view of the mountain from the ski lodge window. The snow is yet to come...

synapped > Since I started shooting in RAW, I've been wanting to redo my icon moon shot in RAW. However, the moon hasn't cooperated yet. I'm hoping this harvest moon will give me a couple more opportunities. This one had a faint bit of cloud or mist around it -- thus the glow.

We went to the dahlia farm in Canby, Oregon this weekend. Acres and acres of gorgeous flowers of every color and description. I had no idea how many kinds of dahlias there are. They're my new favorite flower (for this week anyway)!!
