synapped > Blurring the Lines

I don't know if these are birch or aspen -- I'm thinking birch. We don't have much, if any, aspen around our low-lying country. I'm dying for some of those lovely fall aspen shots for my portfolio. This is about all I can get of even the birch 'cuz, doggone it, they're always around buildings or ugly industrial stuff!
synapped > Playing with Fall

In Photoshop I made a copy of the background layer and changed the Blending Mode to Screen, then played with the opacity a bit to lighten it. After that I used the Flood filter for the reflection. Voile -- art!

synapped > Standing on the Edge of Winter

We went out for a fall colors drive last Sunday, but it was dreary and gray. Maybe some year I'll see this on a lovely fall day!
synapped > Fall Doldrums

I worked and worked to try to get some color into this image, since we've hit the dreary winter rains in SW Washington, and everything is dull and blah.

We went out for a fall colors drive last Sunday, but it was dreary and gray. I soooo wanted to see this on a brilliant fall day. Oh, well...the winter rains have hit SW Washington! I find myself so disappointed with the colors because I've seen pix of it on a sunny day in the fall, so compared to that, this is blah. Maybe you can give me some honest feedback on whether it's a keeper or not. Thanks!
synapped > Once Upon an Ivy Walk
I tried several times last year to photograph the amazing color transformation along this ivy-covered wall. This year I just turned around and shot the other direction. I think I like it!
synapped > The Tree Revisted

Back to the tree at the Japanese Garden in Portland this fall. It's so spectacular! This is almost straight out of the camera, just a wee brightening and levels and such. I like the one I got this year better than last year's because I got leaves under the tree this time! Can you find the bridge in the scene?

I just finally framed last year's in 20x30 size for my dining room. Now I'm debating about printing up this one instead!
synapped > Autumn Blizzard

A city park in Portland, Oregon. I couldn't believe my luck when the wind sent the leaves a-whirlin'!
synapped > Pumpkin Tree, Very Pretty...

I'd never heard of these things till I saw them at Costco and had to buy a bunch! They have tiny little pumpkins on them and even have thorns like rosebushes!

Makes me think of the song by Peter, Paul and Mary
