My "Latest Thing" galleries are a nearly daily upload of whatever catches my eye at the moment, so it's a hodgepodge of images. They are then organized -- along with occasionally some images that don't make it into The Latest Thing -- into categories you can find by clicking in the upper left on "synapped."

synapped > Touchdown!

First stop on our Fall Colors trip was the hot air balloon festival in Prosser, WA. I've seen pix of this place and wanted to go for several years 'cuz it's along the river, which gives you these wonderful reflections!

synapped > Morning Moose Munch in the Tetons

This guy showed up near our campground one morning in the Grand Tetons, Wyoming. I was soooo excited to get to see a moose!

Something a little different for me. I took my first senior portraits of a friend's adorable daughter. This was one of my faves. I find it amazing how each type of photography has its own challenges. Portraiture is not easy!
synapped > Safari Colorado-Style

We went to the Great Sand Dunes of Colorado. Such fun! I did some research before our trip and hadn't even realized Colorado had any dunes!

I didn't have much time to play in the closeup details of the aspen, but I did get lost in there a couple times...

synapped > Fall in a Ghost Town

This is the Ashcroft Ghost Town near Aspen, Colorado. I was worried that we couldn't time our trip just right to catch the aspen color, since we had to be back for an Oct. 8 wedding. It was maybe just a few days before peak color, and it was breathtakingly STUNNING! I've never seen anything like it.

There were even higher mountains on the other sides of these cabins. Can you imagine living here in the Colorado winter? No wonder it became a ghost town!

synapped > Sunrise on the Old Moulton Barn, Grand Tetons

We just returned from a fabulous Fall Colors trip thru Utah, Colorado, Wyoming. My first trip to the Tetons -- WOW, breathtakingly amazing!

Will catch up with all my SM friends in the next few days.

I'm missing the flowers already. Gearing up for fall photos. Once I get over the grief of losing my favorite time of year, summer, fall is my favorite time of year!

We went to the Rod Run to the End of the World in Long Beach, Washington last weekend, forcing me to break out of the mold a bit. It's so hard to figure out a way to process these pix, since there are so many distracting things around them. I drew around it in Photoshop and then tried out a "Smart Blur," which to my surprise gave me this effect!

synapped > Lake Crescent, Washington

The sun just lit everything up in this corner as we were driving by. I gasped and yelled to my husband to STOP! This is really the way the colors looked. It was breathtaking!

synapped > Brilliant Vitruvian Man

Somehow this image made me think of da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man!

We went to the beach this weekend and got a fabulous sunset.

synapped > The Double Muse

Time for some cheer! I went to the dahlia gardens recently and couldn't figure out where to stop shooting! They're such a spiritual experience for me: so many varieties, such incredible colors, all so beautiful.

I was touched when I saw this Flag of Honor at the air show recently. I set it on a background of stock photos of the memorial site. This interview with the Designer of the memorial site is also quite profound.

My deepest sympathies to the families and loved ones...

We went to Mt. Rainier this weekend. It was beautiful, but I didn't get very good pix. The flowers we went for are still not very plentiful, since spring came so late for our part of the world. Maybe they won't even peak before winter this year. On our way down the mountain we got the most fabulous sunset.

It's been crazy busy around here lately. I hope to catch up with everyone in the next couple days...
