Snowy Warmth

I had a thrilling day at Ocean Shores, WA with the snowy owls! They are back in the US again this year because of the "irruption."

These elegant, majestic creatures are actually quite boring! Like eagles, they just sit there for hours, heads turning back and forth watching all us people who are watching them!

This was one of my favorites of the 6 or so owls I saw. As the sun was getting low, I knew I needed to start back the nearly 2 miles to the car, but I saw this beauty and had to stop for a few more shots in the warm light.

I kept moving a little closer until I finally sat down on a piece of driftwood about 18 feet away from him. He just stayed there serenely gazing around. After I had every movement memorialized I just sat and communed with this gorgeous creature, feeling a little closer to God and His original plan for us.
